View Full Version : Packing for vacation

The boat is all packed for vacation except for the Admiral's clothes. My Admiral probably has 30% less body surface than me, but her clothes allotment is twice the volume of mine. Does anyone else notice such a descrepancy in the amount of clothes packed??

No one has ever accused me of being too smart, but a reasonable person would assume the volume of clothes to be stowed should be proportional to body size. I first learned of this descrepancy phenomen on our honeymoon 33 years ago. There must be a natural law regarding describing this. Newton, DeCarte, Boyle, Charles or one of the other ol' boys must have been married!!

Well since you brought my ancestors name into it (Newton) I will tell you that any smart boater guy knows that two pairs of shorts, two t-shirts, one tank top, three pairs of underwear, and no socks, is enough to last at a minimum one plus weeks anywhere. Now that being said the same smart boater is glad to bring on two fully loaded suitcases of the Admirals clothes with a smile. Yes I'm happily married! Ted :)

Randygh,

RJ's law:

Nothing is worse than a lady 30% more of your body surface be dressed in 30% less!

A woman 30% less of your body percentage and dressed 30 % less of her body surface is heaven!

Randy, I notice it -here is my philosophy- she says nothing about how much beer I pack on, I say nothing about the amount of clothes she packs on.

I was told from a very reliable source (the Admiral) that it is in the contract, I mean wedding vows... smalll print under till death will you part or something like that.

I never read the fine print when I signed our wedding certificate. I was thinking more about activities after the ceremony.

I just finished packing up the small boat and the cuddy is half full of clothes. My Admiral asked where my cloths are- "I'll change before I hook up the boat. We are going to be there for 2 days I'll just wear the same thing and bring extra underware"
I got the stink eye

Ken...which way you go to Chelan? Stevens? Do you stop at the Espresso Chalet in index? I am heading to Wenatchee tonight.

BTW...on the clothes...I get what she puts in the bag for me. No questions.

Ken, just want to clarify something here- Did the admiral give you the stink eye? Or did you mean the underwear change was for the Brown eye?? not a stink eye
Oh crap, I need to go boating, 2 more hours I am out of here and on my way to the docks. :)

Sean - Strait over the 2. never stopped at the Espresso Chalet but know where it well (we go to Chelan every other weekend!)

Brad - We are 5hrs and counting - but still have a 3hr trip untill splash!
As for the stink eye, I do so many things that I deserve it that I don't even question why any more!

We're heading over Hwy 2 probably around 5:00. If you see a red/white '77 Ford PU pulling a 26' Carver hardtop with an inflatable on the swimstep, that us!! Have a safe drive.

Wife and I each pack about the same (what Ted said). I love the Costco pants with the zip-off legs which are both pants and shorts. 2 t-shirts and underwear, we're good to go.

Always carry a spray bottle of Febreze onboard. Gives you at least 2 more days if you spray the pits of your shirts. My 21 year old son gave me that tip...saves on laundry bills he says :confused4:

With that last comment, you are a sick man but I totally agree with it which makes me just as sick! Ted
