If I missed a conversation about this ...hey I've been out of town...but has anyone seen where AL (P.F.) has taken the dog and pony show??

( strictly idle curosity ...does the pattern continue or did it die with us?) the latter of the two options is least likely... 8) [/b]

He'll show up somewhere. He did a few posts on BOC and sort of faded out. I dunno what happened to him. I suspect he'll surface again somewhere.

I pity the board that finds him.

Oh well... it's just another part of deal I suppose. He's a bit of center for sure. He'll probably show up somewhere (not here) under a different name.

He is going by Freddie now but you can see some pictures of him here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1469&item=5593155630&rd=1)

Post-traumatic stress disorder is my guess.

I think you're a lot closer than you think Strat. I had his record pulled by a friend, and although he was indeed awarded a Silver Star, there were no associated decorations that he claims (Purple Heart, Bronze Stars, etc)

Hard to tell... there's a story for sure. I wish him the best... (on BOC) :)

Isn't there story to tell about us all? :?

I think a lot about LF is said and I think it's about time we stop writing about some one who isn't able any more to respond. I can fully understand those who couldn't stand all the LF stuff you encountered when you opened the posts. I didn't like them either. But I also don't like the pirate. But it's not up to me as I am not the one in charge to make the rules about what is proper to post or not to post. Nor can I decide what's funny or not although I have a certain strong meaning about it.
As I am the only one here who met the guy and spoke to him and drunk beer wit him I can assure you that it was a total surprise to me that I met a totally different person than because of his LF posting I thought he would be. Daily in this rat race, of being a traveling sales, I have still after all those years of daily education, my surprises about people I thought I knew very well. But I can tell you meeting LF was one of the biggest lately. Therefore I thought it a pity that his planned meeting was canceled. Aside of that I found some remarks made in a post here about the participation on the meeting below the belt. I was anxious what your experience would be and if it would haven given you also a different impression of the guy.
I know that two meetings and a couple of phone calls isn't enough to be able to judge a person in a proper way, but it's more than not having seen or spoken him alive. Maybe I will find out more in the coming fall as he planned a visit what he does regularly to his friends over here again. I can only say than that I will give him the benefit of the doubt until for me it's cristal clear that he isn't what I think he is.

Roel,

You spoke well and I respect your position. Thanks for your thoughts.

I can also appreciate your point of view Roel. Having met him does give you a better perspective of him personally. I can only judge him based upon what I have seen both here and on BOC.

Being charged with the best interest of this meeting place... a place where my actual friends meet and congregate, puts me in an unenviable position in this matter. I hope you respect my decision, as I have respected your view of these things from so far away.

Tony,

Thanks. It's not that I want to defend him against all odds, if he had acted the way, and it must have been clear to him also, what was appreciated here and what was not, this could have been avoided.

Mike,
I think you did what should have be done. I assure you that in my mind there is no doubt about that.
You gave him a fair change but he didn't anticipate and went on in the way which, also to him, must have been clear was not appreciated here.

Mike, that's why we get such huge salaries paid for doing this kind of voluntary Jobs! During my time in the Cat-Fancy I lost some "very good friends" too. My credo was everybody is equal and no one is more equal than others so no exceptions are made during my reign! I think leading a company of 2800 people is easier than be head of a club of 2800.
