I was talking with a friend of mine a few days and back and he says one of the things the Lincoln is doing this time out is completing First Article Testing (FAT) on Grumman's X-47B Unmanned Combatant Aerial System (UCAS). They're currently flying a King Air out and around the boat, and if they can get the final the testing successfully, the next step is to install the system in a F-18 and move forward with Limited Rate Production for these.
I guess it's finally a lot closer than I thought. (none of this is classified btw)
