Today was supposed to be the first day I took the boat out on the Sound to get a better feel for it in higher seas. The first time was on Whatcom Lake. We went down to the launch on the Swinomish Channel and it was windy. One guy who had come from Lopez said it was OK but another guy warned against going out. We were going to circle around Fidalgo Island, counter clockwise.

We decided to scrub it and instead went to Whatcom Lake. There was a gale warning in effect. I'm bummed, though. I was looking forward to the trip.

Oh heck yes I went out today! I was with my sailing buddy Marty on his Jeanneau 30'. We raced on Lake Washington out of Meydenbauer Yacht Club (the Sponsor). The first race we had some wind and mostly good weather. The second race we had no wind and mostly rain. We took 2nd overall in our division (eight boats total). After lunch and awards we headed for Edmonds Marina, there we had lots and lots of rain and some wind the whole way home. So I got soaked, had a long day, but most important had a blast!

They're forecasting up to 50 MPH winds through here today, and it's blowing right crazy right now. Wouldn't suggest anyone go out on purpose in this. :)

Sounds like fun Ted. I recall those days of racing the Annapolis yacht club. We never won but always managed to get rid of all the beer and champagne by the time we got back to port... ;)

Ted, some friends of mine raced against you Sunday. Do you know them? Raul and Julian. They said you'd remember "Blew by You"

What group were they in A,B,or C. Is that the name of the boat?

They remember you very well. I hope that is the name of their boat. I haven't seen it.

Tally this is from someone who knows, so if you are going to bust my chops get your story right!!!!

''The only boats with a "blu" or equal start was "Blue Fin" or "Bullet"- which I know there was NOT a Raul or Julian on, as there was a Jeff, Dan and his spouse on board Bullet a little J22 which was only out sat, they did not attend the dinner etc.

On the other hand, there might have been a "Blew by You" floating around via MBYC membership taking pics or equal.........but i do not recall a "Blew by You" named boat out there, nor is one listed in competitor listings."
