We just go back from a great, 9 day cruise: Skagit Island, LaConner, Eagle Harbor, Blaine (fireworks), Sidney, Sidney Spit, Reid Harbor, Spencer Spit. It was great fun with only two days of rain and no kids (first time in 17 years :D).
We saw a large pod of Orcas in Lummi Bay, on our way to Blaine. I shut down the engine and they frolicked around out boat for 1/2 Hr.
I got to use the boat's horn in anger (5 blasts) for the first time since I can remember as an idiot on a kayak decided to cross in front of my boat in Deception Pass. I was doing 20 Kn on a full Ebb with lots of turbulence in the water. He waited until I was a few yards from him and decided to make a run for it and cross the pass. Fortunately I didn't run over the idiot (I'd hate to have to file all the paperwork ;) ) and his buddies decided to do the prudent thing and wait until I passed.
