Yesterday, To my big surprise I didn't saw my boat in the Barn at the Marine where she was just Friday afternoon. Same time as I entered the Marina I got a call from the guys that my boat was cleaned waxed and in! :D
This to probably a great pleasure of my Son who trheatened to call the Marina himself to put my boat in because I managed to turn a good working Laptop wit one strike of the keyboard into a black screen with a blinking small bar that wouldn't move and Windows XP wouldn't start up again also not with the disk. But all is working fine again.
We had a severe straight wind blowing so the depart from the splash dock to the slip......... OKI have it done better but she is in now. For some strange reason I was as nervous as I can remember I was at my first date! I even ask one of the Marina guys to assist me! :)
After docking I went home and we came back with the most neccesary life stock, 24 cans of Heineken! :D In the evening we had dinner for my mother's 88 years Birthday, in her favorite restaurant and although we left with a free dry cleaning coupon we had a pleasnt evening and this time even the food was good. :)
Tomorrow for most of you but today for us I will install my new Magellan chart plotter and have some other small things to do! We have an extreme beautiful weekend temps 20 C and bright sun shine! Unfortunately the wife has some horseriding to do in the afternoon so we can't go out.
I also don't have to end up before the Hummer dealer in Amsterdam anymore when going to customers in Amsterdam with my Boss! :D
He finally after a year of denying that he would he bought A black Hummer H2. In his family circles the thoughts about the Hummer are very divided. He loves the car and the rest despites it! :D
So on this sunday morning live isn't that bad after all. This week the wife took the week off and now is very proffesional with electric sanding machines and teak oil. It was nice to watch how much she liked the work! So the garden funiture looks like new! It's 8:30 am go to fix some breakfast for the Admiral an me and away to the boat. Have a nice weekend all!

I just woke up to a fire detector chirping, dead battery, and my Bassett having a fit!! We are supposed to change the batteries tomorrow ( or later today actually), damned thing couldn't wait. Went to the boat Saturday and vegetated for several hours, glad yours is splashed again Roel. Do you have a big cruise planned this year?

I would think in Europe with high fuel prices and smaller roads ( in some areas) that a Hummer would be a pretty questionable choice.

Sounds like life in Amsterdam is good, good, good, Roel! Glad to hear it. Surprised to hear about the Hummer, though. I kind of think those beasts are overkill also. They're too much. Too big, too much money, uses too much fuel, too much, too much, too much...

Did the Pope dying get a lot of press in Amsterdam? Do you have a lot of Catholics there?

Gene,

Same overhere in the midst of the night that darn thing goes off. Strumble downstairs in the dark try to open it get the battery out. Wife comes down asked what are you doing why don't you put the light on! :?
About the Hummer, according to the smaller roads he takes his jaguar X5 I think. :D
I had never heard about a Hummer until he cames up with it. For business use he has or had a Jeep Cherokee or uses some times his jaguar but mostly if we go to customers he let us drive. No, the main use will be from home to the office and from home to the Marina and to meeting points on highways with my colleaguesand two or three time a year to Bavaria in Germay.. See it as a boys dream and about the fuel prices believe me you just will notice that how high they may become it doesn't at the end slow down driving much. We have some plans to go over to the Delta in our South West following what we call the big rivers Rhine, Maas and the Schelde. And some were that direction I think our Benelux rendez-vous will beheld. Very nice area to boat.

Our daughter's boyfriend's parents own a Hummer. It is a very nice inside and gets similar mileage to a Ford Excursion. The wife doesn't like it around town due to size but loves it in the snow.

Tony,

Yes we we had and we have.
The sothern part of our countr beneath the big Rivers the population is mostly
roman Catholic. But also in the rest of the country it can some times differ from village to village. But our main religion North of the big rivers is Protestant and are in the majority. Biggest political and co ruling the Nation at the moment is a coalition from Protestants and Roman Catholics the CDA\Christian Democratic Appeal. We fought the 80 year war against the Spaniards that ended in 1648 with the peace of Munster and we got indepent from Spain and our main religion became Protestant. The Southern part now know as Belgium stayed under Spanish rule for some years before it came a part of our countr and in 1830 they became independent and have an almost Roman Catholic population. Detail the kids in Roman Catholic schools learn that Balthazar Gerhards, the guy who shot protestant Prince William of Orange, was a hero and therefore was appointed a Saint by the Pope, as in the rest of the country he william is the National hero and founder of the Nation as he leaded the uprise against Roman Catholic Spain.
