Anyone have one of these? Seems pretty cool...

I was wondering if this could be hooked up through slingbox?

Thoughts?

With stuff like this coming I can see why cable TV lost almost 1 million subscribers last year...

I watch a lot of TV via HDMI and a laptop. The resolution is great and the commercials are fewer. :)

Do you go through a LAN direct connect to the laptop or another way to see HDMI content? wireless? I have internet to the back of the TV now...

I have apps on my TV that do the web, Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, Blockbuster, Facebook and the likes. I also have two 2TB USB drives that the TV can stream from, or the laptop through HDMI.

Tons of ways to get it to the TV, but I don't see what's new about this box. (If your TV already does it)

I can already Sling video upstream as well (to the boat while I'm out)

The interface on the Boxee looks nice. That is cool that the software is free and you can install it on any pc. I might have to play around with it. I also have a T.V. that has Netflix and others installed, but the Boxee opens up more apps than what the T.V. comes with.

I've had a Roku Player for a while now and love it... Plugs into my TV using HDMI, so quality is amazing. With a Netflix supscription, and now Hulu, there is plenty of content- in addition to all the other "channels" available.

It's cheap too! http://www.roku.com/ I have two boxes at home.

Netflix just announced a streaming only acct too that allows unlimited streaming if your TV will support it. It's pretty nice, but you still can't get stuff as quick as through Blockbuster's stores.

Yeah, I have the apps on my TV too through my DVD player so access to Netflix is great as well as Blockbuster but don't use BB since it is too expensive compared to Netflix. I like the amount of content that Boxee provides. Much of it free and plenty of movies and TV shows. Plus the interface is pretty simple. Boxee already includes Netflix on the PC which I already had but that may work for boat use as well. So for now, will keep the free boxee version on the PC and hook up to the monitor on the boat...

I have a MyFi that the TV (here or on the boat) can link to wirelessly to stream video. It's a pretty cool setup. The TV on the boat is the little brother to the one we have here.
