Can you get flourescent red vynal? The kind without adheisive, but will stick to glass or other smooth surface similar to the vynal that oil change places use for their little stickers. Looking for about 12" wide.

Thinking about adding temporary stripes on the side of my boat for Seafair.

Just make sure they are not exactly like the big boys or you might get busted! Ted

I can get flourescent vinyl ... but not without adhesive. I can cut you some red lettering if you wanted. It'll remove easily if use a little heat. Matter of fact, if you folded over the bottom 1/4" or so, back onto itself, you could just pull it away very simply when done.

You could stick on some big "PATROL" letters about 2 feet high. :)

You should stick some big "ROY" or "www.IBOATNW.com" letters onto the top of your hardtop. :)

We could watch you on TV :)

I've got plenty of scrap pieces, lemme know if you want anything.

I was thinking about putting one slightly angled stripe near the forward third of the boat on each side. No emblems like the coasties, just stripes and no red or blue strobe light. Just want to make a few people think twice while they are at a distance when they see a primarily white boat with fluorescent red stripe.

It's going to be hard to put lettering on a hard top while the store still owns it and I don't plan on purchasing it.

Got your email... the vinyl runs $94.19 a rol (24"x30') and that's the smallest qty I could get it in. I could have it by Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Got your vinyl in the mail Roy. I cut you some "PATROL" letters as well. You can affix them along your gunnels or bow somewhere.

I started to cut you some "STAY BACK!" vinyl that you could mount on a foam board. But, I thought a "YES... that means YOU Stoopid!" sign would be more effective.

Have a great Roy. Too much work for me, but glad to see you're still volunteering. I don't think enough is said about the folks that volunteer to make this happen. I had no idea how much they depend on volunteer boats to pull SeaFair off.

I think Mike has too much fun with his vinyl cutter! :)

Maybe Mike should open a shop and compete with Liberty Sign Shop and Prizm Graphics, since he's having soooo much fun with his cutting machine. This would make him gainfully employed again.

Royster, that is exactly what SS does NOT want to do!

Ted's got the right idea. If I have to cross that line, I'd probably go get a job that paid well. :)

Never aspired to be a sign shop owner. But, you're right the machine is fun. It's a very expensive toy, but it pays for itself.

No sense being gainfully anything... unless you're having fun. :D

Right now he has a sign shop, just no overhead or boss to yell at him! :)

Nope the Love Shack is a Winebago up in the camper section where wild things happen after hours. SS you didn't do it enough years to know about it. I did and it is a wild place to hang out at after we are done for the day.

One year of dealing with those idiots was enough for me.

Besides... I think they treat the volunteers pretty badly.

IMO, they should have a catered BBQ or something available for all of the patrol boats at a minimum.

Mike - Again thanks for the vinyl. The stripe and PATROL on the sides of the boat stops peopel almost in their tracks when I turn the boat broad-side to them when they are headed at me and the diver next to me.

Loren - I'll give you a call tomorrow after I get off of the water.

Home to take a shower tonight and water the garden. Heading back when I sign off.

Live from Seafair. I'm on the Seafair wireless network.

Just got off of the water after a day of setting the perimeter line and a few docks. Also had to do a run after the sunset to make sure all the tower lights on the bouys on the p-line were working.

Banner on the boat during the day is Logboom Captain 13, after the course is closed the banners change to Dive 2. During the day I work NW Gap, after the course closes I go on night call for the Dive Team. Hopefully the logboom doesn't break after 0:Dark thirty.

I'm so glad I asked you a long time ago to help out, you have turned out to be quite the volunteer animal. You get my vote for the award this year. I really do wish I could be there with you, wear the number 13 proud for me! Ted :D

Great job Roy. I don't think 99% of the people out there realize that the Hydro Races would not be possible without all of you folks volunteering (read that NO pay) and providing the boats necessary for this whole thing.

Glad the vinyl worked out OK. Glad you used the PATROL letters. I'd bet they pay a bit more attention :)
