Hey all. It would appear as though we are getting real close on negotiations for a Bayliner 4588. Need some recommendations on Hull and Engine surveyors up in the North Washington area. I want surveyors that know 4588's and what to look for. The boat is located in Anacortes. It has been on the hard, winterized for the last two years. It is very well equipped which is good and bad. Good that it has a lot of the things we want and need. Bad because if any of it is a problem it will add a great deal to the cost of ownership.
I am thinking that I may want both surveyors on board during the Sea Trials. Seems like a great way to evaluate a lot of systems and operation that they would normally not have the ability to test.
Any suggestions?

Call the guys at Banana Belt Boats in Anacortes for who they suggest. Great guys and they know that boat well.

It wouldn't be at Banana Belt now would it? I'm finishing up a set of panels for a 4588 that's for sale there now. Gerry Greth is the broker.

When I researched this, Matthew Harris seemed to have a very good reputation for the hull side of it. He was very busy and I couldn't fit into his schedule, so used someone else from the same company. He works out of Bellingham. For what it's worth, Dean

Same comments as Dean. Not mechanics, but boat. Loves to have you by his side. Very thorough.
I used him 12 years ago on a boat I declined to buy. Would absolutely use him again on a PNW boat.

Thanks for the resources. Here is an update:
We have come to an agreement on price and the papers have been signed
The bank is on board with the settled price so financing is done
I am going to be arranging survey for next week. When we will do Sea Trials also.
I am having a minor/major panic attack as I now will own 4 boats; 4588, 3218, Whaler, Hard Tender (from 4588).
I will be selling the 3218 and the Hard Tender off the 4588 (Provided I can put the Whaler on the 4588).

So if anyone knows of anyone that is interested in a 3218 that has been kept under cover since it was new, well equipped, very well kept boat please let them know. We are asking $37,000.
