Staying down at Avolon on Catalina Island. Today going out for yellowtail and then we are going night fishing for swordfish tonite on my brothers boat. Water is flat and the weather is perfect. Report to follow !

Spud, how is that Catalina Island? I hear allot about it from the BOC site with boaters running out to spend the weekend. Seems like the destination for them down south. I never hear about the Island , just the trip out to it and back.

Stayed in Avolon Harbor in Catalina. The small town goes on all night with bands playing the many bars. The harbor though is quiet. We were up at 6 am for Calico Bass and Yellowtail. Got lots of bass (C&R)
and a couple of Yellowtail (15 lbs). Trolled for Marlin for awhile, but the water is still too cool. The winds picked up and we headed back to Huntington Beach Harbor. The US Open of Surfing was going on......
the place was packed. Had a blast but it is good to be back.

Heading to Pt Townsend this weekend to hit Eastern Bank.
