I've been having a problem with my starboard fuel tank and need some help.
symptoms:
after running for several hours and only after getting into rough water and getting sloshed around a bit my starboard engine will backfire and start missing and losing power. I then go and adjust the fuel manifold to draw from both tanks to both engines and the problem immediately fixes. If I then wait a few minutes and then go and readjust to draw each engine from its own tank it still runs fine.

So Vapor lock does not fit. filters clogged does not fit. this leads me to believe that there is some crud in the tanks which must float up and get caught in the fuel pickup when encountering rough water and then floats back down when the fuel draw is eased.

Problem is I don't know of any outfit in the Seattle area which will "polish" gasoline and rid me of the crud. Anyone out there know of someplace still polishing gas not just diesel??

May not be "crud" as such. It's something likely bigger than the pick-up tube, such as paper/ plastic, old float etc. Only way i know is to remove sender and examine tank. I use my vacuum oil changer to remove water from gas tanks, could retrieve other stuff as well. Good luck, Gene
