How did Santa know?
He sent me a new WM3000RF Marine Stereo with Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) Remotes. Finished the installation today. I love the wireless RF remote as it enables me to control the radio from the helm and cockpit.
The radio accomodates SD cards, flash drives, ipods, and can access their music files. It has a jack for iphones as well if you want to listen to Pandora on the Internet.
Looking forward to crusing in the San Jauns next summer with all of the great tunes.
Thanks santa!! :D

Nice setup Greg. Funny thing I had with the stereo on my 2859. I was removing the last of our gear off the boat yesterday and tidying up some stuff and I opened the case for the detachable faceplate and there's a remote! :)

Didn't even know it. Works like a charm. Would've sure been handy. :)

Yeah. Mixed emotions about selling the 2859 anyhow. I spent a lot of time and money getting everything seaworthy and set up the way I like and now it's gotta go. Bittersweet at best. The trawler is way cool though and someone else will get a fun 2859 to cruise in.

Yes, that would be difficult to say goodby to a very fine boat that has served you well and has been the focus of much time and treasure. Still your new boat will serve you better, although in different ways. Change is never easy, but sometimes it is for the better.

One day we may go to a trawler style boat ourselves, but not until we retire, and that is still many years away.

Funny, Patti and I were talking about this the other day. The 32 has been a great boat. We have done so much to her to make her a reliable, comfortable boat. Still life moves on.

Having a remote control CD player would be handy, but I don't think we'd use it very often. While running, the Admiral turns off the rear speakers so only the two cabin speakers play music. The Admiral enjoys chick music that in my opinion makes dogs' barking sound good. I'd rather not listen to music when running. Besides keeping a close eye on my gauges and instruments, I like to hear the engine and outdrive sounds. While moored we keep the volume down very low. Nothing's worse than hearing some idiot's stereo in his boat that is tied 4 boats away down the dock. (Especially if they're playing country-western music!!)

I think I found changing boats fairly easy myself, the hard part was unloading all the crap from one then putting on the new one.
Maybe I'm different but making a boat change was like starting over. I dunno, I always like it. Maybe it was the " making it ours" part and new projects.
In fact, I'm ready again but my wallet says no . :)

Yeah we only listen to music when going real slow, 5 knots or when anchored up. But we do love our country westen music. LOL
