PVC/Fiberglass Resin Compatibility

A friend is working on a project using fiberglass and PVC pipe. Is PVC compatible with epoxy or polyester resin?

I believe that neither polyester nor epoxy resin will stick to PVC. Nor will they attack PVC, but acetone will.

It's my understanding also that fibreglas nor epoxy stick well to PVC. I read on another forum about a guy building a boat from PVC pipe. Several professional custom boat builders said it wouldn't work. Gene
