Anyone seen any action in south sound? I plan to fish south of Blake near Southworth assuming my boat is ready for pick up. (They did not seal the bearings on my trailer after the recall and they got water in them). So it sits at the repair shop since Monday... grrrrrr

well, everyone but me must have known the fishing was bad... Just two of us out there from 7AM till 2PM. Saw a lot of fish... under the boat. Tried every lure I had and every combo flasher I could rig up.

I even had time to rig my Black box... I was sitting there watching the fish finder and it dawned on me to just rig up a 12v power plug and use that for my power for the black box since I already have a power outlet for my phone at the dash now.... I had a spare plug (after digging in the ruins of a tool/junk hideout), I found it. Took 5 mins to hook up and I had the black box up and running ... (still no stinkin fish)... Maybe next time I'll turn the voltage up all the way and electrocute them... Also had time to read the manual (after I hooked everything up... I did not realize that I am suppose to ground my 9.9.... Something else to do now... After I get the boat BACK from the EZ load people. Seems the repair job made the oil bath bearings leak in the salt water. Nice foaming action... this is the third time I dropped it off for the same repair. Now they say they will call EZ loader and find out what the problem is... I told them they must have cut the inner seal when they replaced both inner and outer bearings. We'll see sometime this week...

Tomorrow we have to do the Puyalup Fair... bet it'll be a great day for fishing...Going to ZZ Top on Weds... so that won't be too bad... looking forward to hearing those guys again...

Went out fishing on Sunday (25 Sep)

Caught and released a black mouth and I got my silver off of Manchester fuel pier using a green flasher (and echip) and green apex (with echip) coated with smelly jelly @ 90' oh yeah, had my black box set to .650. I was tempted to run it up to "stun" had I not hooked any (only kidding, no stun setting I am aware of... ). We were out for 2.5 hours. Worked Southworth to Allen Bank off of Vashion and back to Yukon harbor and trollled north to the fuel piers at Manchester... Then we (I mean I) had yard work to catch up on...

Good news, the oil bath bearings did not leak!

BTW, I bought the Admiral a Cutco knife set from one of my graduated cadets and one of the "freebees" was a fillet knife... Holy moly, that has to be the best darn fish knife I ever used! No joke, so sharp, I thought I was using a surgical knife. It has an extendable blade that locks at 5 to 8 inches, hook sharpener, and line cutter built into the holder and the holder converts into a "plier" for grabbing the fish by the lip. Bright orange and it floats...

The Admiral took this pix of ZZ Top and added the photoshop label on the left. They are still awesome and we stood the entire time. Scary how they still do so well with only three of them the past 35 years!
