View Full Version : Giant COHO
Fished PNP today from 11 to 2:00. Nailed a giant 19.4 pound coho and his baby brother a 10 pounder. Gobbled up a green squid 38 inches behind a Silver Horde #2 dodger and took to the sky with an amazing aerial acrobatic act. 85 ft on the downrigger in 120 feet of water just off the point.

and I'm stuck going to Pensacola for the next week! My flu has been a tough one. Not sure but this is probably the worst flu I have had bar none. If I were feeling a bit better, I'd certainly be out looking for grandpa coho... Now I am depressed as well as sick... thanks Spud... ;)
It'd better be a good picture!

Sounds like a MONSTER!
Was he staying pretty firm and bright? Definitely a nice fish. How come ya can't pull something like that during the derby? :D

Doug ,you have a cold or flu?? whatever I have feels like a combination. My chest is so congested and i go thru the hot and cold spells. feel like crapola. I am still getting to work but jacked up on over the counter medicines along with some prescriptions.
Darn my luck I also have to work 12 hour days both Saturday and Sunday.
Good luck with yours, hopefully this will be the last of the season for us.
Brad
Mike,
Both were firm and bright. Hook nose just starting to form. Nice lice.
I sent you a pic. I will try to post one.
I think there are still some out there. I would have rather fished the incoming tide, but we just went out and fished when we could.

Brad, definitely Flu. Congestion in the chest and just now moving up but not breaking up yet. My voice has gone south the past three days (kids like that)... I could sing bass with Shanana's Jon “Bowzer” Bauman yesterday afternoon and this AM... yeah, I'm showing my age now huh?
I too am on flu drugs... Ibuprofen, Airborne, Nightquil, throat spray and Flonase, and eucalyptus cough drops. I gotta kick this thing before Sunday AM when I fly. Valsalva here I come...
Hey Spud, the dentist is your friend I'll bet!
Thanks Mike. That's not the kitchen, that my processing room ! :P

Hey, I have cooked fish in my dishwasher before... On purpose too. I had a bet with someone... This is what I did... Obviously, no soap, and no other dishes in there. Prepare the fish fillets the way you like, wrap in foil (tightly) and run the normal cycle. Turned out great.

Big Silly grin = big fish :D
Never thought to use my dish washer as a steamer?
I know that the drying element at the bottom on the washer gets HOT-
If ever had a wooden spoon dropped on it during a cycle you know what I mean!

Looks just like the 8 pounder I caught at pt no pt about 10am today-only BIGGER!! Much BIGGER! I have never seen more fish jumping except during 03 humpie run than I did today. Big fish, looked like chum? They were just going for it, not uncommon to see three or for fish making multiple jumps at the same time. Seemingly always on their sides, could they be trying to get rid of sea lice? It sure does make the fishing more interesting when you see a couple of hundred big fish jumping, some within yards of the boat. At least you know the fish are in the proximity!
