I was wondering if anyone out there has replaced the upper helm shift control cables? They seem to be a little stiff. I read on here in another thread about the cables wearing into the outer sheath and can cause binding.
If any one has replaced these, did you replace the cable all the way to transmissions or just to the junction box under the salon sole? Thanks

I generally replace just what's needed. Cables are actually pretty affordable but some times the labor is terrible. I've seen the cables last 30 years on some boats and 3 years on others. Gene

The only cables I've replaced were the ones from lower helm to trans. No to bad. I attaches my new cables to the old ones and was able to pull them through- Just lucky I guess!
